Born in Switzerland, Albert Frey was a man with an modernist vision that was way beyond his years and who is now known as one of the founding architects of Palm Springs. After being commissioned for a project in the California desert, Frey fell in love with the landscape and environment and decided to make it his home, which he completed in 1964.
In addition to his own home, other notable works by Frey includes the Tramway Gas Station, which has become a modernist architectural icon as well.
