BEACH GUIDE | FIRE & ICE

There are not many things about summer weekends that I like more than firing up a BBQ and having friends and family around. It always lends prime opportunities for the greatest memories and chances to build new friendships. So, with that, here are a few of the things in my arsenal that help me maximize those moments.

THE GRILL | BEACH GUIDE

Whatever you pick, knowing it in an out is what makes being the grill master of the evening go smoothly or come crashing to a halt. I have never been a fan of gas grills to be honest, though I have used them and made some great dinners, wood and charcoal are still by far my BBQ of choice. There is something to be said about the flavor that the wood and charcoal lends to the foods. Plus, you can’t very well carry a gas grill down to the beach.
Here are a few of my must haves for summer BBQs

THE TUSCAN GRILL

The Tuscan Grill (yes, of course it’s Italian), without a doubt the best thing you can take with you for a beach BBQ.

WEBER

The classic One-Touch Weber, this guy has never let me down, big or small cookouts. It cooks even, when you cook foods in the right order. And with the new design elements added, it is now easier to refuel mid BBQ.

DRINKS | HOW TO PACK

The best things that I have found for taking cocktails to the beach are large Mason Jars (you can get them almost anywhere). It really adds a fantastic style element to the BBQ without any work at all on your part. Just pre-mix the cocktails, add ice, screw the lid on and you are ready to go. You can also pre-mix and pour individual drinks as well in smaller jars, though depending on the number of people, this could get quite heavy to carry down to the beach. I usually do the larger jars with plastic cups, let’s face it, it is just easier.
