If you have a love of cartoons, monsters and pop culture, you will love The Standard’s latest art installation, Kenny Scharf’s Squirtz! Standing eight-feet tall in The Standard’s High Line outdoor Plaza, it is surely not to be missed. This marks the third sculptural installation to hit the hotel’s plaza, with KAWS and Erwin Wurm being the previous two. With a new show, Kolors, at Paul Kasmin Gallery and a new book by the same name (also the latest project from Standard Press) you can be assured that these cartoon characters will be around for some time to come.
You can see Squirtz on view at The High Line until April 1st. Squirtz will then join ten other paintings and three other sculptures by the LA-based artist at a solo show, Kolors, opening April 4th and running through May 4th at Paul Kasmin Gallery.
