With this year marking Alexander Wang’s 10th anniversary as the edgy designer who broke into the fashion world by bringing cool street-smart style back into the scene, I couldn’t think of a better person to add to our Style-List than Katie Robin, Accessories Manager at Alexander Wang. And when we choose someone to feature on Surf Collective, we always like to point out what makes that person unique and special. Whether it be an adventurer or a trend-setter, everyone we profile has a quality that adds a valuable perspective to the creative world we live in, and Katie is no exception, and it is here that you learn why.
Being the observant (and often overly observant) person that I am, the three things that I noticed about Katie right off the bat are features that most women try desperately to perfect, but which she makes look so easy. First, it was her gorgeously tanned skin and glowing complexion, of which I, as a heliophiliac myself, was extremely envious of, followed by her thick, perfectly-shaped, dark-brown eyebrows, and her dirty blond hair color and beach wave texture that looks amazing at any length. So, as you can imagine, it becomes clear upon first impression that this beauty is blessed with those features that, no matter how hard we may try, we might never be able to replicate.
However, with all looks aside, it is the kind, cool, calm, and collected nature of this New Jersey native that really made an impression when we met for the first time at her Amagansett home this summer.
So, although we all tend to look better in the summer, Katie Robin needs no season to make her stand out, as her attitude and her “je ne sais quoi” makes her striking features seem so secondary to her style and sense of creativity, which she also employs through her love of photography. Read below to see what lights this girl’s creative fire!
